Mama’s Broke WORKSHOPS FOR FESTIVALS AND GROUPS

Group Ballad Singing

Drawing from the well of Appalachian, British, Scottish and Irish folk ballads, this workshop encourages attendees to participate in group singing while learning about themes and melodies that are threaded through traditional a capella folk songs. This may include learning multiple harmony or countermelody parts to a cannon, verse or round. All skill levels are welcome. 

Clawhammer Banjo 

This workshop is an overview of basic clawhammer banjo techniques including frailing, drop-thumb, and thumb lead. These techniques will be applied in both tunes and songs.
